      Senior Relationship Manager – Real Estate

      Your role & work environment

      ING Luxembourg is looking for a Relationship Manager, who will be part of the origination team within the WB Real Estate Sector.

      As Relationship Manager, you develop and maintain the relationship with the largest players in the Luxembourg Real Estate sector. You will manage a mixed portfolio of developers, RE Funds and international investors in a capacity as Parent Account manager or Local Account Manager. You will be the clients’ primary contact person In Luxembourg within ING. You have strategic discussions with your clients’ CFO, treasurer and arrange senior management meetings on CEO or board level.

      The team you will join is the WB Real Estate team. The facilities and products provided to our clients contain a variety in structure and complexity, which requires an adequate professional level of coverage, especially with regard to fund services being offered by ING Luxembourg to Real Estate Funds. The Relationship manager works closely with the Portfolio Manager within the Lending team, but also with the various other products of ING to service our clients through the concept of a (Virtual) Client team.

      Locally you will report to the head of (Corporate) Sector Coverage and functionally to the head of WB Real Estate Sector Benelux.

      Your key responsibilities

      • Commercial attitude
        • You are willing to invest in a long term relationship with our clients and prospects in order for ING to become their primary bank
        • You are result driven and look for healthy growth of your portfolio revenues
        • You spot business opportunities in your conversations with your real estate clients and organize pitches to generate business and reinforce ING’s competitive position

      • Stakeholder management
      • You have networking and relationship building skills, allowing to quickly build trust with senior leaders and clients in the real estate ecosystem, to ensure smooth transactions and processes.
      • You are the captain of the virtual client team, coordinating activities with product specialists and/or with relationship managers locally and abroad. You take ownership of the REF deals and make it happen.
      • You have 1st line of defense responsibilities. You ensure relevant client reporting, holding credit, operational and compliance risks at the highest standards by supporting the completion of the KYC processes.

      • Objectives

      • You monitor your clients’ profitability and the realization of your portfolio KPI’s and team objectives
      • You avoid underperforming assets in your portfolio by locking in cross-sell opportunities and making careful considerations when being presented a lending opportunity. You monitor the performance of our clients in their own projects and the related credit risk.
      • You participate to the wider sector initiatives or improvement projects, and actively contribute to making the sector coverage a better and more efficient organization.

      As a Relationship Manager you will also need:

      • Academic degree / MBA in finance, economics, law or equivalent
      • Minimum 4 years of experience in a commercial role
      • Experience in Real Estate : Sector network ecosystem, deal origination and structuring is preferred
      • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English and French. Mastering German and/ or Dutch in addition would be preferred.
      • You have a good product knowledge especially Lending, Corporate Finance, Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Financial Markets
