Actively leading European real estate primary partnership underwriting with a particular focus on ‘owning’ investment views on Dutch real estate assets and funds on behalf of discretionary portfolios as well as advisory account(s).
Acting as a Private Investments expert for Russell's client service, funds management, media relations, and advisory efforts.
Developing relationships inside and outside of the industry to support robust strategy development and idea generation.
Attending manager and industry conferences in an effort to establish relationships, monitor select managers and generate investment ideas.
Working with project leaders across business units to help manage day-to-day needs of select high profile strategic partner / advisory relationships.
Establishing and leading research meetings with real estate general partners (“GP’s”) and documenting investment views.
Performing market research for the purposes of helping identify potential environments for investment purposes.
Setting up and leading regular and ad hoc calls with real estate managers for the purposes of monitoring activities and current views regarding the markets in which they are invested.
CFA, CAIA certification preferred.
Under graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline or equivalent qualification.
Considerable private markets experience as a portfolio manager, portfolio analyst, research associate, research analyst, or consulting analyst.
Prior asset management, analytical, and / or trading experience required.
Knowledge of capital markets, portfolio management strategies, and statistical analysis needed.
Knowledge of security trading costs and settlement and clearing practices, and the global securities markets.
Proven analytical, technical, and systems skills.
Proven ability to explain complex investment topics orally and in writing.
Self-starter and able to demonstrate initiative.
Demonstrated ability to understand and use financial theory and tools.
Demonstrated ability to think independently and to make an investment case.
Fluent in Dutch and English (speaking and writing).
Strong interpersonal, networking and communication skills.
Credible and confident with the ability to persuade and execute.
Sets high standards and pushes self and others to perform.
Strong client orientation and capacity to proactively establish and maintain effective relationships.

Job Description:Role Summary
The purpose of this position is to research private market investment partnerships, with an emphasis on European real estate strategies (e.g., core, non-core, etc.) including those operating specifically in the Dutch / Netherlands marketplace. Although Russell Investment’s investment research process is conducted in a team-oriented environment, it is essential experienced analysts take individual accountability for identification and final ranking decision in their respective coverage areas. Project management and leadership experience engaging highly sophisticated clients on defined as well as impromptu investment matters (e.g., co-investments, risk policies, threat assessments, sustainability advisory, etc.) is important. The senior member must also be able to demonstrate the capability to develop investment thesis’, to leverage an active network in support of idea generation, and to clearly articulate complex content internally as well as in client-facing situations.
This role can be based in London or Amsterdam.
