- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Minimum 2 years of postgraduate experience and intention to apply for RANZCOG training program and demonstrate a plan for achieving selection.
- Demonstrate academic achievement and commitment to learning at undergraduate, postgraduate and JMO levels.
- Demonstrate ability to identify personal training needs and seek training opportunities.
- Demonstrate effective contribution to the multidisciplinary team and appropriate leadership skills for level of training.
- Demonstrate ability to initiate, participate and disseminate clinical research including developing own research skills.
- Demonstrate participation in clinical governance and patient safety activities.
- A commitment to excellence in women’s health and ability to communicate effectively.

Sydney Local Health District is seeking highly motivated applicants for JMO Senior Resident Medical Officer positions in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at RPA Women and Babies.
What you will be doing:
This position is aimed at qualified candidates who are planning on applying for Obstetrics and Gynaecology training with RANZCOG.
You will be involved in a variety of areas involving inpatient and outpatient care of patients attending our Service. All positions involve the following rotations:
You will have the opportunity to undertake a research project under supervision and relevant to the Stream.

The positions’ rotations involve working at a number of facilities including:
RPA Women and Babies
Is a Level 6 Maternity hospital with approximately 5,500 deliveries per annum. There are a number of low risk and high risk obstetric clinics including but not limited to the following antenatal clinics: Breech, Hypertension, Gestational Diabetes Mellitus, Birth After Caesarean section and Medical Obstetric Clinics. RPA Women and Babies has JMO rotations to both Canterbury and Concord Hospitals. It is also the largest public gynaecology service in NSW providing training in general gynaecology and all RANZCOG recognised subspecialties.
RPA Women and Babies is part of Royal Prince Alfred Hospital one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.
Canterbury Hospital
Is a level 4 Maternity hospital with a number of low risk and high risk obstetric clinics as well as general gynaecological services. There are approximately 1,800 deliveries per annum and the Special Care Nursery can care for babies down to 34 weeks gestation. The Canterbury Hospital Obstetrics and Gynaecology services are closely integrated with RPA Women and Babies as their Level 6 referral hospital.
Canterbury Hospital is part of Sydney Local Health District, one of the best performing health districts in NSW. Canterbury Hospital works closely with other hospitals and services such as Sydney District Nursing, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Concord Repatriation General Hospital to meet the health needs of people in our district.
