      SESLHD covers urban and suburban communities and manages eight public hospitals and one public nursing home:

      • Calvary Healthcare Sydney (third schedule with Little Company of Mary Health Care)

      • Prince of Wales Hospital

      • Royal Hospital for Women

      • St George Hospital

      • Sutherland Hospital

      • Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital

      • War Memorial Hospital (third schedule with Uniting Care)

      • Gower Wilson Memorial

      • Garrawarra Centre

      SESLHD also operates 28 Child and Family Health Centres, 12 Community Health Centres and nine Oral Health Clinics; providing prevention, early intervention and community-based treatment, palliative care and rehabilitation services.

      Drug and Alcohol, Mental Health, Breast screening, HIV/AIDS, Public Health, Women's Health, Youth Health, Sexual Health, Imaging and Pathology services are provided at a number of facilities across

      After completing the 12 months Critical Care Rotation it is expected that you have gained the experience & skills as per below:

      • Administration of anaesthesia and pre-operative assessment of patients under senior supervision.

      • Management of critically ill patients in Intensive care and Emergency department under senior supervision.

      • Assessment and management of paediatric patients with senior medical officer input.

      • Technical skills including vascular access, airway management and ventilation.

      • Resuscitation and the management of cardiac arrest and deteriorating patients.

      • Teaching and supervision of undergraduate students undertaking critical care rotations.

      What you'll be doing

      To provide effective medical services to patients under supervision in a complex clinical environment.

      • To provide effective medical services to patients under supervision in a complex clinical environment.

      • To undertake 3 months training in Anaesthetics, Intensive Care, Paediatrics & Emergency department.

      • To develop an understanding of management of critically ill patients and participate in the after- hours JMO Ward Roster.

      Important information:

      - This is a Category A position. All Category A applicants must read and understand NSW Health Policy
      PD2024_015 .
      - Successful applicants to the role must provide vaccination history and pathology as part of the application documentation, and be certified as compliant before employment can commence. A link will be provided once deemed successful




      1. MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
      2. This position is only for PGY 3 and 4 level (by the end of the current clinical year)
      3. Experience working in Australia at least for 24 months
      4. Evidence of current & ongoing participation in continuing medical education / professional development e.g. completion of relevant courses such as ALS 2, BASIC, EMST, APLS or similar.
      5. Should have completed at least 2 critical care terms by the end of the current clinical year
      6. Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and computer skills.
      7. A professional attitude and flexibility in work role with a preparedness and ability to participate in after-hours overtime and on-call rosters.
      8. Interest in pursuing a possible career pathway in either Emergency Medicine, Intensive care &/or Anaesthesia.
