Job summary
Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide and coordinateadministrative and secretarial services; including for example, the preparation of agendas and minutes, taking appropriate follow-up action as required.Supporting the team with the management of projects, gathering informationand undertaking enquires as and when is necessary for the head of department and team members.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will deliver high quality administrative support to theSafeguarding Team at Birmingham Children's Hospital (BCH)to advocate the smooth operation of the department.
The post holder will maintain an accurate Child Protection database andcollate reports as required, to facilitate high quality service. The post holder will undertake safeguarding data analysis.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly and to manage and organise their workload and be able to cope with conflicting demands on their time but prioritise their work accordingly. The work pattern can be unpredictable at times. The nature of the role requires excellent communication and organisation skills and a high level of computer literacy.
The post holder will have responsibility for handling telephone and othercommunications with sensitivity and confidentiality using personal judgement and acquired knowledge to assess each situation and to deal with it accordingly.
The post holder will manage their own workload and will provide non clinical advice and guidance in relation to safeguarding queries. All complex queries are to be escalated to the Safeguarding nurses, team leader and named nurse.
