As a Safety Specialist, you prioritize safety, ensuring strict compliance with federal and state safety regulations, while actively contributing to reducing workplace injuries. Possessing strong analytical and communication skills, you excel at site inspections, data analysis, and providing recommendations for continuous improvement. You are a collaborative team player, highly organized, and passionate about enhancing safety programs. Your technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and a dedication to our mission-driven ethos are vital, along with your flexibility to manage diverse responsibilities, including safety training and program development.
What you will do:
Ensure project compliance with safety regulations through inspections and audits, making recommendations for improvement.
Assist in coordinating Massport Construction Safety Committee activities, including meetings and follow-up on safety matters.
Perform miscellaneous safety-related duties, such as reviewing contractor submittals, maintaining safety equipment, and conducting safety orientations.
Develop and implement programs to reduce employee injuries, including hazard analyses, training, accident investigations, and loss control services.Bachelor’s degree in safety engineering, public health and safety, occupational safety, or related technical field.
3-5 years’ experience; hazard identification training; strong knowledge of construction practices, compliance, and proficiency in MA and federal laws, codes, and regulations, including OSHA.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
Current and unrestricted driver's license, except for corrective lenses.
