      Are you ready to take the lead in ensuring the safety and security of our community? We're looking for a Senior Security Manager who is not just skilled, but also passionate about making a difference.

      In this role, you'll be at the heart of coordinating the physical and operational aspects of our housing authority's safety and security. You'll oversee operational programs and processes at our Central Office and properties, focusing on effective vendor and stakeholder management. But it doesn't stop there. You'll be the critical eye we need to facilitate comprehensive security programs that truly work, engaging with our incredible staff, residents, visitors, business partners, and external vendors.

      The Senior Security Manager:

      • Oversees all facets of the daily operations of KCHAs safety and security functions at Central Office, to include guard force and security vendor management; manages multiple security workflows and assists KCHA field-based staff at various properties regarding safety and security needs.
      • Coordinates and manages KCHA-wide, integrated security systems, to include security cameras, access control systems, key management, mobile applications, and other tech/tools related to physical security measures.
      • Provides expertise on operational matters pertaining to KCHA's safety and security programs; leads regular meetings with counterparts to assure organizational alignment; collaborates with Risk Management, HR, and Training to align processes; assists with security design and implementation to improve physical security infrastructure at various KCHA properties.
      • Conducts follow-up investigations after critical incidents and provides visibility to all relevant stakeholders; conducts active analysis regarding risk and threat management; works with external law enforcement and public safety partners as needed.
      • Provides security technical leadership to all levels of KCHA staff and direction to assigned staff in accordance with program goals and objectives; oversees the supervision of personnel, including work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution; evaluates peak performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.
      • Coordinates with HR, Risk Management, local law enforcement, and other KCHA teams to assist with the development and implementation of safety and security training for staff.
      • Oversees vendor invoice submissions and assists with budget planning and concerns.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree AND
      • Considerable experience overseeing and coordinating safety and security operations of an organization OR
      • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

      Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Prior law enforcement experience is preferred.

      Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Exceptional ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with colleagues, KCHA leadership, directors, executive team, law enforcement, elected officials, third-party security personnel, vendors, and the general public.
      • Ability to provide effective leadership and motivate staff.
      • Proficiency in utilizing security equipment and systems.
      • Ability to read and interpret floor plans and site layouts.
      • Proficiency in emergency management procedures, including the NIMS Incident Command System.
      • Skill in reviewing, assessing, and making security recommendations.
      • Proficiency in collecting and analyzing threat intelligence.
      • Competence in project management, supervision, and technical writing.
      • Expertise in budgeting, conducting performance evaluations, processing invoices, and managing security contracts.
      • Ability to create informative presentations using PowerPoint and digital reports.
      • Capability to comprehend, explain, and apply policies and procedures.
      • Proficiency in oral and written communication.
      • Sound judgment in analyzing situations and making timely decisions.
      • Strong organizational skills to plan, direct, and evaluate the work of subordinate employees.
      • Skillful use of personal computers, software, hardware, and peripheral equipment.

      • Must meet and maintain all training and education requirements for position.
      • May require possession of, or ability to obtain, specific licenses and/or certifications depending on departmental assignment.
      • Obtain National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS) certification within one year of hire.
      • Consent to and pass a driver's and criminal records background check.
      • Must have an acceptable driving record at time of appointment and throughout employment. Valid driver's license in the State of Washington to regularly travel between work sites.

      Salary & Benefits:
      The starting salary range for this position is $93,539.00 - $114,585.00 annually dependent on qualifications and professional experience. The complete salary range for this position is $93,539.00 - $135,631.32 annually. Performance based merit increase opportunities and COLAs are reviewed on an annual basis.       After initial onboarding, depending upon the work assignment, this role will have the opportunity for a hybrid work schedule in accordance with the KCHA's flexible work arrangements; however, remote work conditions will be reviewed on a regular basis based on business and program need. The ability to report to the Central Office in Tukwila will be required. Some local travel may be required to support KCHA business needs.

      Physical Requirements:
