Interested in part-time, job-share or flexible working? We want to talk to you!

      Join our community….of change

The home of changemakers, challengers, agitators. The real home of test, learn and scale. We embrace discomfort, push boundaries, break & make rules in the pursuit of reimagining how banks are perceived on social media.

This newly created position will have the keys to unlock the true power of social media – helping us realise our ambition to be THE most engaged with FS brand on social. Leading this brilliant new team, you’ll drive strategic delivery, grow team capability and transform our brand reputation across all social platforms.

You’ll direct how we engage with customers & consumers in a meaningful way, drive positive sentiment with the media, deliver thought leadership to the industry & accelerate colleague advocacy. In doing so, you’ll turn the channel into a brand and commercial growth engine.

The recently formed, integrated social media team is responsible for the strategy, planning and delivery of all social media activity across Santander UK.

      The difference you’ll make

      • Driving change through collaboration – leading the team you will collaborate furiously with a wide range of teams across both the UK bank and Group and pioneer best practise.

      • Testing, learning and scaling – you’ll show the bank how to be ruthlessly single minded, demonstrating a thirst for cultural, consumer & commercial insight to drive test & learn.

      • Elevating UK best practise – you’ll nurture & build great relationships with peers across the Santander Group, showcasing best practise and leveraging learning from other markets.

      What you’ll bring

      • Deep expertise in social media (audiences, channels, media, measurement frameworks) and a sound understanding of how to optimise activity to deliver best value contribution to the wider business.

      • Broader experience of working in a marketing communications & / or media relations role with expertise in engaging multiple audiences (customer, media, political, opinion formers).

It would also be nice for you to have

      • Experience of inspiring teams, leading through change, identifying & executing new ways of working and nurturing team capability.

      • A sound understanding of customers and changes in digital technology and how these create opportunities to refine targeting and deliver more effective plans.

      • A keen interest in the news agenda and political landscape, together with an understanding of reputational risk and its mitigation.

      • In depth commercial knowledge of the financial services industry or a similarly regulated sector.

What else you need to know

We want our people to thrive at work and home, and we recognise that many people benefit from flexible arrangements. To enable us to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop we understand the importance of having the right balance of spending time together in an office while maintaining flexibility.

By working this way, we can continue to create moments that matter for everyone. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and we’re happy to discuss specific requirements throughout the recruitment process.

This role is based in our fabulous new head office, Unity Place, in Milton Keynes and our current expectation is at least 2 days in an office every week. The role will also require regular travel to London.

If you’re interested in this role but with part time hours or a job-share we would still love to hear from you and discuss these.
