      Job Description:

      Design, implement, and test software for industrial systems using .NET, C# and C++ in client-server applications and web client development using React and Angular frameworks. Software will be deployed in multi-threaded Windows environments and integrated with commercial database management systems. Utilize strong object-oriented design and data structure knowledge. Participate in task definition, prioritization, and project estimation as part of an Agile development team. Author and maintain software architecture of distributed systems and design documents. Understand and analyze existing software. Provide input for technical manuals and user documentations as required. Work with Product Support and Product Test to answer technical questions and resolving issues. Investigate new technologies and tools, evaluating them for use in our products. Follow the applicable product development processes and contribute to overall process improvement. Work with U.S. counterparts to enhance Emerson Automation Solutions’ proprietary DeltaV™ software through design and development. Work on software design blueprints and perform actual programming tasks in adding and enhancing features to DeltaV™ and related products. Develop and build Emerson Automation Solutions’ DeltaV™ software test configurations to test system functionality and integration with applications. Perform diagnostic testing to identify and evaluate problem areas within the DeltaV™ software and related products. Identify, report, and troubleshoot DeltaV™ system software issues and validate resolved issues. Part-time telecommuting permitted.

      Requirements:

      A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field, plus 8 years of progressively responsible experience in a software development occupation. The required experience must have been progressively responsible and must include:

      • 5 years of years of experience designing and developing software applications for industrial systems.
      • 5 years of experience in the following:
        • Object-oriented design, data structures, and multi-threaded application development;
        • C# and C++ programming languages used in client-server applications;
        • Web client development using React and Angular frameworks;
        • Application development using Microsoft .NET for the Windows operating system;
        • Commercial database management systems and the design of highly performant systems;
        • Software architecture of distributed systems;
        • Software design documentation practices; and,
        • Troubleshooting and debugging commercial software.
      • 3 years working in an Agile development environment.
