What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable, resilient Data Lakehouse components
- Collaborate with the Staff Engineer to lead architecture sessions and reviews with peers and leadership
- Ensure the quality, usability, and performance of Data Lakehouse solutions
- Evaluate and recommend new software tools and technologies to enhance the Data Lakehouse platform
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth and development of the engineering community
What is Required (Qualifications):
- 3+ years of experience in software development, focusing on data infrastructure and platforms
- Experience with open-source table formats such as Apache Iceberg or Delta
- Experience with open-source compute engines like Apache Spark or Trino/Presto
- Proficiency in cloud computing environments, including AWS or Microsoft Azure
- Expertise in developing scalable, resilient, and highly available distributed systems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Familiarity with container technology such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code
- In-depth knowledge of DevOps concepts and cloud architecture
- Experience with Azure Network or equivalent cloud networking platforms
