- Apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to develop and manage Agile software solutions and products;
- Rewrite Internal facing Legacy applications to Kubernetes services, such as BNS (Branch Notification System), to connect back-office and retail branch bank employees for review of notifications and identification of fraudulent transactions; and Four Eyes, to facilitate manual economic sanction screening of monetary transactions;
- Ensure compliance and security best practices are being followed during all aspects of Agile software product development, including fixing application vulnerabilities and performing security scans using tools such as SonarQube, Black Duck, and Fortify;
- Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints;
- Perform design and development tasks with a relentless focus on software reliability engineering standards embedded into development standards;
- Critically review tasks and ensure they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery;
- Anticipate and communicate blockers and delays before escalation is required;
- Make sound design/coding decisions keeping customer experience in the forefront;
- Conduct code review in various technology stacks, such as React, Java Spring Boot, DevOps, Hibernate, SQL Database, Jenkins, Rancher Kubernetes, and IBM MQ;
- Perform day-to-day maintenance of code health, implementing enhancements, fixing bugs, providing on-call support, and guiding team members by recommending appropriate changes;
- Provide guidance on engineering best practices, such as understanding requirements of epics and prioritization of tasks on Jira board, and compliance with development procedures based on code review;
- Define technical designs, such as GitLab repositories, adding/creating artifactory for projects, setting up DevOps pipelines, and requesting resources for applications that consider scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected;
- Take full stack ownership by writing consistent, production-ready and testable code and deploying code releases from lower environments to production;
- Perform Disaster Recovery exercises on quarterly basis to ensure application resiliency;
- Create optimal designs for application features in BNS, such as Reports using Java and React UI; and in Four Eyes, implementing OAuth/SSO (Single Sign On) Authentication using ForgeRock, creating application controller, service, and DAO layers for create, retrieve, and adjudicate notifications, and implementing reports functionality using WebFOCUS, while adhering to architectural best practices.

Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer in Houston, Texas.
Essential Responsibilities:
Basic Qualifications:
Requires a master's degree in computer science or closely related field (or foreign degree equivalent), and 2 years of relevant experience; or alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in computer science or closely related field (or foreign degree equivalent), and 5 years of relevant experience.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must have at least 2 years of experience with Java, Spring, Docker, and Jenkins. Must have at least 1 year of experience with Spring Boot, Microservice Architecture, Git/GitHub, MS SQL, Angular, Bigdata, and MongoDB.
This position is with U.S. Bank National Association, a U.S. Bank company.
Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $149,947 - $176,100. (#LI-NDI #LI-DNI #LI-DNP #DE-DNP).
