Identity Engineering team is responsible for providing the Identity Access Management capabilities for PayPal Inc users and partners (Includes Venmo, Xoom & other products). We design, develop, enhance services that get called across every interaction between PayPal and its users and partners. Our solutions need to scale across billions of such interactions, working with petabyte plus data, integrating with various other APIs in real time and yet providing high availability and configurability to the business. To achieve this, we are always looking at advances in technology and science and tying those back to business needs.

We are looking for a rockstar engineer to spearhead our Identity Platform. As a senior member of the team, you will architect and implement robust solutions to the complex problems. Your day to day:

• Lead React Native development by converting ideas, designs, and requirements into concrete, stable production builds

• Design and oversee solutions (clean IOS Applications) for specific use cases that provide frameworks, interfaces, and services that can be extended and reused for future requirements

• Influence and mentor peers - not just in the immediate team, but across PayPal

• Work with product, project, and engineering teams to deliver products on schedule that solve our customers’ problems

• Collaborate with Engineering and QA to resolve bugs

• Develop and communicate technical processes, standards, and best practices to the team

• Innovate, innovate, innovate

Required Technical Skills:

• 6 to 12 years of hands-on mobile development, Must have React Native IOS development experience

• Expert hands-on knowledge of React Native, IOS Development, scalability of applications.

• Knowledge of multi-threaded, asynchronous code. Familiarity on REST API calls to connect from IOS apps to backend.

• Experience with animation, and implementing user interface designs

• Knowledge of design patterns such as MVC and MVVM

• Skilled at writing Unit and Automation tests

• B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science

What do you need to bring:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

• 6+ years of experience in building scalable distributed software systems.

• Strong programming fundamentals and analytical skills. Proficient in at least one programming language - preferably Java and/or JavaScript.

• Good understanding of architectural considerations such as security, performance, scalability, reliability.

• Proficient in full stack development using Java EE technologies (e. g. Java language, application servers, servlet containers, JMS, JPA, Spring, Spring Boot, JAX-RS, Hibernate or equivalent) or JS stack (Node JS, React JS etc).

• Working knowledge of RDBMS. Understanding of NoSQL and other modern database and storage technologies is desirable.

• Experience in testing frameworks, build tools and CI processes/tools.

• Strong advocate of code craftsmanship and quality deliverables.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proven ability in working with cross-functional groups and getting results in matrix organizations.
