      Job Description

      U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Software Engineer (Java/J2EE) in Irving, TX.

      Essential Responsibilities:

      The Senior Software Engineer (Java/J2EE) will collaborate with a team and across the organization; take responsibility of the software artifacts produced adhering to U.S. Bank standards in order to ensure minimal impact to the customer experience; and be adept with the agile software development lifecycle and DevOps principles. Specifically, the Senior Software Engineer (Java/J2EE) will be responsible for the following:

      • designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products;

      • taking full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code;

      • creating optimal design adhering to architectural best practices; considering scalability, reliability and performance of systems/contexts affected when defining technical designs;

      • performing project scope Identification, impact and risk analysis, task identification and successfully delivered a micro service from initiation to closure;

      • migrating legacy applications to Cloud using Kubernetes;

      • preparing high level design and architecture documents using UML and Visio;

      • interacting with business and management and identifying any pitfalls in the requirements and preparing technical specifications;

      • performing work using the following tools and technologies: J2EE, Mockito, Power Mock, Spring, Java, Oracle, Kubernetes/Cloud Foundry, Kafka, Bluej, Azure.

      Basic Qualifications:

      This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and 5 years of related (progressive, post-baccalaureate) experience in design and development using J2EE.

      Required Skills/Experience:

      Must also have 2 years (24 months) of experience with each of the following: 1) performing project scope Identification, impact and risk analysis, task identification and successfully delivered a micro service from initiation to closure; 2) migrating legacy applications to Cloud using Kubernetes or Cloud Foundry; 3) preparing high level design and architecture documents using UML and Visio; 4) interacting with business and management and identifying any pitfalls in the requirements and preparing technical specifications; 5) performing work using the following tools and technologies: Mockito, Power Mock, Spring, Java, Oracle, Kubernetes or Cloud Foundry, Kafka, Bluej. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently.

      Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $139,464 - $ 171,000
