- Lead the analysis, design and documentation of both system and business requirements for application enhancements and projects.
- Lead the requirement sessions with business and system teams.
- Collaborate with multiple functions to ensure quality software.
- Provide technical and business leadership for developers and Analysts.
- Lead the resolution of system and business requirement issues.
- Create test strategy, plans and cases based on requirements documentation and defect resolutions.
- Coordinate/support planning and execution for projects and initiatives, including allocation of resources.
- Estimate and track progress of assigned work.
- Follow established practices, processes, and guidelines.
- Identify and Lead process and procedure improvements.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge on current system standards and IS department established methodologies.
- Engage with business partners to understand current and emerging business needs.
- Keep up with industry trends (business and technology).
- Lead the communication of system solutions in business and technical terms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- At least 5 years, preferably 7 years or greater of experience performing systems or business analysis.
- Completion of post-secondary degree/certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience with business and technology transformation.
- Advanced analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize a busy workload.
- Strong Business Acumen.
- Advanced communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with style fitting for the audience and message.
- Advanced planning and organizing skills, with the ability to develop and implement plans by prioritizing and multi-tasking.
- Advanced attention to detail skills to produce high quality deliverables that accounts for all areas involved.
- Good leadership skills to provide guidance and direction towards task accomplishment and mentorship.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven experience in agile practices, scrum, kanban and continuous delivery.
- Experience in programming languages is considered an asset.
- Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Splunk is considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience in the insurance/broker industry is considered an asset.

Working Business Language: This role is considered a head-office role and will be required to communicate with internal stakeholders across Canada where the primary business language utilized is English .
Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $95,000.00 - $120,000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Job Overview
The Lead / Senior Solution Analyst will be part of our Life Edge Digital Delivery team and contributes to Wawanesa’s success by designing, documenting, testing, and supporting system solutions to meet business stakeholder requirements.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working in an agile scrum team that facilitates rapid design, development and implementation of application changes that embodies a passion for continuous improvement and test-driven development. You will have Analyst experience related to Business, Systems, and/or Quality and have technical proficiency with web applications.
Our Life Edge area is beginning a large business and technology transformation. As well as maturing our current delivery processes and practices.
