- Provide technical leadership, architecture and design solutions of digital capabilities and business opportunities within Browse, Search and Selection domain to enable creation of impactful customer experiences/engagement across channels and markets for Albertsons customers.
- Drive the architecture and design of modern user interfaces for both web and mobile interface based on consumer design principles for next generation user interface platform.
- Keep up to date on cutting edge/emerging solutions/technologies on Cloud, IoT, mobile, Progressive Web Apps, Single Page Apps, Content Management System, AI/ML, Social etc.
- Defining data and integration architectures to support automation and own the detail integration patterns for integrating catalog solutions.
- Work closely with Product Management, Architecture, Data Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Information Security groups to define and deliver the overall solution including contributing to roadmap of backlog of priorities.
- Participate in Architecture Review of solutions within the Domain and for the other domains.
- Continuous partnership with enterprise architecture team, cross functional teams, including vendor partners, to ensure all solutions are being developed with continuity of the enterprise solution ecosystem, while meeting all security, data governance, legal, risk and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with Enterprise & Data Architecture teams to shape enterprise architecture guardrails, standards, and patterns.
- Ensure quality guidelines and control processes are created and implemented for the technology platforms and products working with engineering teams.
- Partners with Tech Leads and Architects in driving modular, services-oriented integration and solution architectures.
- 4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.
- 10+ years’ experience in the design, development, use of component-based UI architectures and practical programming (hands-on) experience (NodeJs, JavaScript, Angular, React, Web components and Microservices).
- 5+ years acting as a principal architect for major systems and their subsystems. Additional consideration for experience working with high volume ECommerce websites.
- Expert level understanding of the HTML DOM and underlying event model.
- Demonstrable knowledge of large scale, JavaScript application architectures
- Strong experience in web standards, accessibility standards by Americans with Disabilities Act
- Strong experience in Mobile App standards for both iOS and Android devices.
- Strong familiarity and experience with Microservice architecture, Java technologies and framework, high-frequency data/event streaming architecture and NoSQL/RDMS.
- Significant understanding and experience in best practices around systems integration, security, performance, and data management.
- Experience in implementing ecommerce Search using Google Retail Search or Elastic or similar platform is an additional strength.
- Strong background in creating secure cloud architectures for customer facing applications that are enterprise grade and highly scalable.
- Experience in Kubernetes, Java, Spring, SpringBoot, Jenkins, Kafka, React, GraphQL, Databricks.
- An excellent communicator - for building relationships, managing stakeholders, working with clients and delivery teams.
- Ability to assess product management and marketing business needs and translate these requirements into efficient and scalable digital marketing solutions.
- Significant experience with the full software development lifecycle and software development methodologies (Agile, Iterative development).
- Effective time management skills: ability to prioritize, delegate and meet deadlines.
- Preferred experience with implementing applications on the cloud infrastructure such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, Redis Cache, Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Launch.
- Preferred familiarity with Pivotal Cloud Foundry and/or Kubernetes.

What you will be doing
Senior Solutions Architect is Lead technologist who oversees architecture & design for all digital properties of Albertsons Inc. Helps drive the technology vision, strategic roadmap for digital; responsible for leading the Architecture, Design and Solution of the Key Initiatives. This leader closely works with Solutions Architects, Staff Engineers and Engineering, Product and Business Leaders in the organization. Mentor and groom other Engineers, technical leads to help them grow and succeed. The individual should be good at Customer Experience technologies and backend services to support Customer Experience.
The position will be based in Pleasanton, California or Plano, Texas.
Main responsibilities
The salary range is $147,500 to $178,100 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
