- Working under the guidance of the Sourcing Manager, develop and maintain strong knowledge of the supply market in Mexico; to allow ‘Matchmaking’ of suppliers to AMETEK business requirement based on engineering, quality, commercial and operational requirements.
- Follow up on all enquiry and transfer projects until realization of saving incl. benchmark of competitiveness and hit rate of inquiry vs actual order. Where appropriate, lead the project management for specific projects.
- Under the guidance of the Sourcing Manager and in conjunction with SQE colleagues, support site audits, NPI assessments, FAI sign off, etc.
- Degree educated (Preferred)
- Engineering or Economic/Commercial qualification an advantage.
- Business related qualification an advantage.
- 5 years in Purchasing/Supply Chain/Engineering/Quality role (Strongly Preferred).
- Experience in purchasing or sourcing for production parts - buyer, sourcing engineer, supplier quality engineer, supplier development engineer (Strongly Preferred).
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation (Strongly Preferred).
- Electronics & Wire and Cable Harness.
- Machined Parts, Sheet Metal.
- Castings.
- Good negotiation skills and business acumen (Preferred).
- English language (Essential).
- Ability to travel in Mexico and USA for business trips.
The GSO Senior Sourcing Engineer will work with all AMETEK businesses to identify suitable suppliers, helping them source products and services in Mexico. In conjunction with GSO and Corporate team members, provide effective sourcing knowledge to all businesses, from an engineering, quality, and commercial perspective. Provide project management leadership and support for supplier/product transfer activities.
