- Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre.
- Masters Degree in Pharmacy (MPharm)
- Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
- Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
- Independent or supplementary Prescriber
- MSc in a relevant subject
- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
- Excellent knowledge and practice of clinical pharmacy in the acute care setting
- Minimum of four years post registration experience relevant to Hospital Pharmacy with assessed competencies or equivalent qualifications and experience in critical care
- Experience in providing a clinical pharmacy service to critically ill patients
- Ability to use research findings to develop clinical services /guidelines
- Experience of working within a range of clinical specialities
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Highly developed communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills. Confident and assertive when working with other professionals with the ability to work quickly, calmly and accurately under pressure
- Word processing/spreadsheet skills
- Ability to construct and conduct audits alone and supervise others
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage change and influence senior pharmacy, medical, management and multidisciplinary staff

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic specialist pharmacist to work in critical care. The pharmacist will have the unique opportunity to work at a critical care unit with 24 bed at Northwick Park Hospital. The post holder will be working closely with the critical care pharmacy team at Northwick Park Hospital. The patient group is diverse taking adult medical and surgical patients who require multi-organ support; often these patients are from specialties such as St Marks Hospital gastroenterology, intestinal failure, ENT, Vascular and Head & Neck departments. We pride ourselves on a multidisciplinary approach to individual patient care.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for someone who has extensive clinical pharmacy experience, critical care experience and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team. You will need to have excellent communication, clinical and negotiation skills, as well as experience providing training and education to a range of healthcare professionals and patients. Experience in managing individuals or team(s) is also an advantage.
