      Position Summary

      This role is defined to support the Category Management Team & Wider ETO organisation with the pinnacle of knowledge on macro & micro trends, providing forward thinking considerations and action plans to best position Samsung in navigating the competitive environment. Being able to integrate smart uses of AI in to day to day activities is seen as a critical priority to help build in to the future.

      The main objectives of the Category Management team include finding growth opportunities across all categories measured against previous sales performance, marketshare & profit (WHAT/ HOW/ WHY) as well as managing & optimising the European portfolio of products and devising all encompassing Go To Market Strategies that also consider services and connected offerings.

      Role and Responsibilities

      Building Assumptions (30%)

      • Being able to “shortcut” and get to critical areas to explore based on assumptions before looking further in to relevant data to build insights and strategy

      • Build a wider lens on a 2 year industry outlook, creating narratives on opportunities and threats

      • Stepping away from day to day operations to consider a more holistic strategic view of how Samsung can grow within MX (Mobile Experience)

      • Understanding key differences within markets with a good open dialogue with local teams, starting with largest 8 subsidiaries

      Testing & Execution (50%)

      • Integrating AI tools in to thought processes to be able to test and learn through more expansive data points, then challenge & refine the output

      • Turning data in to actionable insights utilising relevant frameworks and consultancy based principles to develop ideas for execution

      • Bring fresh ideas to the table for new ways to launch or promote devices (marketing mix)

      • Build in longer-term goals to commercial planning

      • Executing business applications and monitoring effectiveness

      • Drive action throughout the organisation to get products to market in an optimal way, supporting the development of Go To Market principles, optimise in-life sales performance and helping to expand ideas across markets including building reference/ business cases.

      • Ability to engage across different levels within the business as well as with channel partners

      Reformulating & Optimising (20%)

      • Ensuring assumptions continue to be tested and adapt action plans as and when the assumptions change

      • Follow threads of additional opportunities discovered through the earlier processes of exploring, building and testing executable strategic plans

      • Contingency planning against unfavourable market factors and being able to react quickly

      Skills and Qualifications

      To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

      • Entrepreneurial spirit, thinking big and developing innovative new ideas

      • Engagement & curiosity in the applications of AI (ChatGPT etc.) for building insights and strategy. Previous working experience with AI is a bonus

      • Someone who is good at building assumptions to help create focus in opportunities to explore

      • Great with numbers, deriving findings & visualising insights

      • Impactful and effective written and verbal communication skills across different types of teams

      • Can thrive in a fast paced environment and adaptable to change

      • Passion for technology and a very strong existing understanding of the mobile industry and preferably at least one other

      • Experience in a tech company in a commercial capacity would be a huge plus
