      SUMMARY:

      This position is responsible for leading and directing the Smart Chicken Transportation fleet to achieve business and financial objectives. This position is a remote role but will require some in person office work.

      RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Track logistical expenses

      • Monitor shipment temperatures

      • On time service management

      • Asset utilization

      • Driver safety and compliance

      • Load assignment and selection

      • Carrier relations

      • Align sales / distribution / carrier needs for efficiently and cohesion

      • Trailer pool plan execution

      • Other duties as assigned

      REQUIREMENTS:

      Education: Bachelors degree preferred.

      Experience: 3 plus years transportation/warehousing experience preferred.

      Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office is a plus; Tyson Business Computer Systems /SAP is beneficial. Knowledge of Inventory, Transportation, and Warehousing Systems a plus.

      Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

      Supervisory: This position acts as a team leader providing functional supervision for other members of the work unit such as assigning work and training lower level positions.

      Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year
