      Join our team now at Siemens Healthineers as a Senior Systems Engineer – Radiation Detection. This position is located in Knoxville, TN and relocation support will be provided to out of state candidates.

      Answering to clinical needs in oncology, neurology, cardiology, and radiology, Siemens Healthineers

      Molecular Imaging (https://www.siemens-healthineers.com/molecular-imaging) systems provide PET/CT, PET/MR, SPECT, and hybrid SPECT scanner (SPECT/CT) solutions to help clinicians diagnose, treat, and monitor diseases more confidently.

      This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a Senior Systems Engineer – Radiation Detection, you will be responsible for:

      · Maintaining ownership for the realization of new hybrid PET imaging system acquisition functionality over the course of a development project and throughout the life of the product

      · Driving the integration, test strategy, and validation of PET Imaging System Acquisition Functionality

      · Driving the definition, specification, technical risk management, of a product feature in close cooperation with the project team.

      · Leading the conceptualization efforts to analyze various architectural and design options for PET detector configurations, communication and data paths, and performance

      · Reviewing and assessing maturing technologies for incorporation into medical imaging products.

      · Generating clear and thorough written reports documenting technical performance of systems.

      · Investigating and resolving customer issues related to performance, usability, and reliability

      · Eliciting high quality system requirements from clinical, service, manufacturing, marketing, and other users/stakeholders

      · Identifying, quantifying, and driving the mitigation of technical risks to our projects and products

      · Championing both the extrinsic quality (proven by functional verification) and the intrinsic quality (proven by clinical validation) of our products

      · Ensuring seamless integration of complex hardware and software subsystems that are designed and manufactured at multiple locations across the globe

      · Developing team members through mentoring and coaching in complex subjects.

      · Providing critical technical guidance to associates and upper management.

      · Experience (2+ years)in the development of radiation detection systems in a highly regulated and safety critical environment

      · Ability to lead a team of diverse individuals to drive the integration, test strategy, and validation of PET Imaging System Acquisition Functionality

      · Solid understanding of the fundamental principles of scintillation-based radiation detection, event discrimination, and signal processing

      · Solid understanding of the principles and practices concerning the design of high speed and high throughput data analysis and transmission

      · Experience with software development and programming languages with an emphasis on test framework development and general debugging

      · Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to convey ideas and concepts to a wide range of international audiences (USA, Germany, China & India) including the clinical community, product management and other engineers

      · Positive attitude with demonstrated experience working on large cross functional teams with the ability to also work autonomously
