      The Senior Systems Engineer will work with BMC professionals to modify the system architecture in support of a rapidly expanding custom development environment. You’ll develop technical solutions for business problems utilizing the Remedy ARS application and related tools. From back-end workflow to web services to the user interface, all aspects of custom development will be covered by this position. The ideal candidate is a BMC Remedy Developer that’s highly skilled in custom development.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Collaborate closely with Business SMEs and Project Managers (PMs) to understand requirements, design, and to implement solutions
      • Serve as a subject-matter expert (SME) on all aspects of custom WOS system
      • Perform system enhancements and upgrades
      • Upgrade, develop, and administer Remedy ARS 9.x or greater
      • Develop, implement, and install roll-back and backup plans
      • Develop internal applications and provide escalated/Tier Level 3 Production Support
      • Translate customer requirements into detailed technical requirements
      • May lead other developers for specific projects (expected at Senior level)
      • Work with product management, operations, marketing, and other stakeholders in the business to plan, design, develop and code software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products
      • Lead complex coding and engineering analyses on medium to large software development projects
      • Configure software in a test or staging environment to prototype production environments
      • Define documents and perform necessary tests to ensure product performance, availability, and reliability
      • Work closely with members of other departments and external consultants to understand customer needs and drive results
      • Maintain custom code through releases and upgrades with system documentation for ongoing support
      • Conduct root cause analysis; recommend and implement fixes following a documented change process
      • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

      Education & Experience

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; a High School Diploma or GED is required
      • 8+ years of relevant IT experience is required
      • 5+ years of BMC Remedy custom development experience in AR Platform (not ITSM customization) is required
      • Experience with SQL Server
      • Experience with, and a good working knowledge of, Microsoft Windows Server
      • Experience using the following technologies: Web Technologies/Servers: HTML, CSS, Web Services, Microsoft IIS, Apache Tomcat

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

      • Ability to develop customizations to BMC Remedy products within best practices
      • Must be able to develop, implement, and install roll-back and backup plans
      • Ability to communicate effectively with both non-technical business users and highly technical audiences
      • Ability to lead projects and clearly communicate technical issues and resolutions to management and key stakeholders
      • As business environment is fast paced and changes rapidly, must be mentally flexible with the ability change course
      • Must be a creative, keen problem-solver with the ability to work independently
      • Ability to take general business needs and turn them into a high quality, future-proofed solution is required
      • Strong problem resolution and risk assessment skills
      • Business analysis and business process understanding
      • Ability to drive collaboration across teams on project requirements and dependencies
      • Customer focus and ability to build customer relationships
      • Effective technical writing and documentation skills

      Pay range: $140,000 - $150,000 / year Pay is based on nondiscriminatory factors, including but not limited to experience, education, skill, and location.
