      We are currently looking for a Senior Technician to join our Polyolefin Catalyst Performance team in our Innovation Headquarter in Austria, Linz. The team consists of approx. 15 experienced and competent members including technicians, engineers and scientists who are making sure that our proprietary and 3rd party catalysts are evaluated and performing as expected to fit to the Borstar PE and PP processes.

      Your tasks and responsibilities in this role will be to:

      • Perform lab research work for the development of PE and PP polyolefin catalysts using scientific methods and techniques
      • Carry out detailed catalyst evaluation assessment and product / process development using bench-scale polymerization reactors
      • Basic polymer analysis (e.g. MFR, BD, sieving) and preparation and sending of samples for further testing in other labs
      • Collaborate closely with different stakeholders in our R&D as well as Operations and our Catalyst Owners
      • Decide independently on maintenance and operational needs of laboratory equipment
      • Perform regular service and maintenance tasks according to the defined common responsibility matrix to support the infrastructure and prepare the experimental workflow
      • Collaborate closely with the lab operations team and be responsible for assigned operational areas
      • Document laboratory work in a consistent way for full traceability
      • Take into account safety in all operations and procedures

      About you

      • Education as lab technician, higher technical degree (Austrian “HTL”) or Bachelor / Masters degree in Polymer engineering/science
      • Hands-on experience with polymerisation or similar lab work that includes inert working conditions, glove boxes and/or small scale reactors/pressurized vessels
      • Knowledge about handling of dangerous goods (pyrophoric compounds, flammable pressurized gases, liquids, poisons)
      • Very good English and German language skills
      • Systematic and accurate working style with high safety awareness and the willingness to succeed in a team
