      Your Contribution
      As a Test Engineer reporting to the Head of Test & Validation, you will be responsible for providing engineering support for equipment and facilities used in the validation testing of automotive Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) and engine cooling components. This position requires a multidisciplinary background of both electrical and mechanical engineering relating to the support of industrial and test equipment, process control and instrumentation. Responsible for ensuring data quality and adherence to validation test specifications for components and systems as part of the product development cycle to validate new component designs or applications for major automotive OEMs.

      • Installation and support of instrumentation and data acquisition systems for temperature, pressure and flow measurements. Ability to calibrate and ensure conformance of individual and system measurements
      • Installation and support of process control equipment including PLC’s and set-point controllers. Ability to tune process loops for optimum operating performance
      • Ability to properly size control valves, heat exchangers, pumps and other process equipment based on design requirements to meet specific testing conditions
      • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with refrigeration systems and equipment. Fully understanding the principles of a refrigeration cycle and the function of all the components
      • Engineer test equipment and facility enhancements in areas of process control systems, data acquisition, instrumentation, and safety
      • Interaction with test technicians providing direction for troubleshooting of operational difficulties with test equipment, meeting of test specifications and recognition of data quality issues
      • Determines project specifications for new equipment based on product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical designs and preparing cost estimates
      • Develop and perform commissioning tests of new equipment ensuring conformance to project specifications

      Your Experience & Qualifications

      • College degree in a related mechanical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, technical training and work experience
      • BT / BS Degree Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or other related technical degree combined with experience
      • 7+ years minimum experience in support of industrial process or test equipment
      • Knowledge of instrumentation, process controls, data acquisition, industrial electrical systems, variable speed motor drives, control valves
      • Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC controls and HMI devices
      • Familiarity with HVAC system, Thermodynamics and heat exchanger design principles
      • Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis
      • NFPA-NEC, OSHA, standards and requirements
