Senior Trust Associate

Job Description

Contract Length: 6 months (with possible extension)
• Assist Senior Institutional Advisors (SIAs)/Relationship Managers (RMs) with daily administration of institutional trust and custody accounts.
Responsibilities
• Serve as the first point of contact for institutional clients' front office staff for servicing needs and transaction processing.
• Independently resolve client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Monitor accounts for compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Administer trust and custody relationships related to benefit disbursements, investment management, and commercial banking services.
• Process cash transactions such as wire transfers, check preparation, cash transfers, and securities trades.
• Manage daily cash reports for overdrafts and uninvested balances, ensuring proper investment of funds.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and their service providers (consultants, TPAs, auditors, RIAs).
• Review and interpret institutional client agreements for administrative and fiduciary purposes.
• Maintain high service standards and contribute to client retention and satisfaction.
• Participate in client relationship reviews and assist with regulatory reporting (e.g., DOL, PBGC, IRS).
• Provide backup coverage for other Trust Associates and contribute to team operations, including mail sorting and check deposits.
• Strong client service orientation and interpersonal communication.
Required Skills
• High attention to detail, organizational ability, and independent problem-solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Kofax PDF.
• Understanding of trust/custody administration, securities processing, and operational efficiency.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, make decisions, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with institutional products and reporting requirements.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in the financial services industry working with corporate, non-profit, public fund, Taft-Hartley, or Native American clients.
Experience
• Experience in administrative or client service roles within institutional trust or custody operations.
• Knowledge of bank operations, pension systems, and investment trade execution.
• Experience with trust/custody, pension plans, securities lending, charitable accounts, or operating fund clients.
Preferred Qualifications
• Background in client consultation or advocacy.
• Public speaking or client presentation experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.

• Reports to the Team Lead Manager within the Institutional Advisors team.
