The Digital Financial Tools team creates products and experiences that help Chase customers understand and improve their personal finances, including budgeting, building credit, saving for the future, and more. This is a high impact role with an opportunity to work on products that impact the lives of millions of people. You will leverage your passion for solving problems to build human-centered experiences that educate and inspire our customers to make better financial decisions.

      Job Summary

Senior User Experience Designers in our Digital Financial team provide design support to ensure projects meet customer needs, business goals, and deadlines. This is a hands-on designer role, responsible for executing across each step of the product design cycle, from planning and requirements to discovery, design, testing, and beyond. A successful candidate will be able to create and present refined design artifacts that are informed by qualitative and quantitative insights, and that ladder up to overarching business objectives. We are looking for thoughtful, empathetic, and resourceful designer to join a multi-disciplinary team that includes Design, Research, Content, Product, Data Analytics, and Technology.

      Job Responsibilities
      • Dive deep into customer problems and distill complicated problems into simple and elegant solutions to explore different options, including unexpected, but still feasible, solutions.
      • Present work and articulate strategy and rationale for design recommendations with evidence-based insights to partners and stakeholders.
      • Develop design concepts, prototypes, and detailed UI design using our design system.
      • Participate in upfront user research to better understand user needs and behaviors, and usability testing to see how your solutions work for users, with the support and guidance of UX Researchers.
      • Advocate for the users' perspective when collaborating with partners and stakeholders to discover customer pain points, structure the work around the customer needs, and build outcome-based roadmaps.
      • Collaborate directly with engineering peers to find optimal technical solutions to bring your designs to life.
      • Diagram the interactivity of the product and services ecosystems, including omni-channel service and feature interactions, with user flows, wireframes, and service maps.
      Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
      • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant design discipline (e.g., Interaction Design, Human Computer Interface, User Experience Design), certification from credible bootcamp or similar accelerated learning program, or equivalent practical work experience.
      • 3+ years of experience in work that involved collaboration within design teams (with other designers, UX researchers, and content designers) and cross-functionally with product managers and software engineers.
      • Understanding of basic technical context of their designs; familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
      • Foundational understanding of business needs, and how design connects with it.
      • Online portfolio demonstrating proven understanding of application of design systems, responsive web & mobile application design and wireframe development, and experience with Figma or related design tools.
      • Self-directed, ownership mindset in both planning and structuring work and executing at expected levels of quality.
      • Design thinking and interaction design.
      • Advanced skills in Interaction Design as well as either Visual/UI Design or Information Architecture; Intermediate ability in adjacent skills such as User Research, UX Writing, and Prototyping.
      • Able to show how your understanding of technical constraints and opportunities informed your design solutions.
      • Comfortable and confident when presenting work to cross-functional Directors. Excellent communication skills, involving written communications and developing softer skills (e.g., active listening, influence modeling, etc.)
      Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
      • Advocate for Accessibility Guidelines and Inclusive Design practices.
      • Has shipped multiple successful digital products, demonstrated user- and human-centered design approaches, and experienced with design thinking methodologies.
      • Familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, frameworks such as React, and mobile UI standards across both Android and iOS.
      • Previous work or interest in design/experience design for personal financial management tools.
