- Resolve obstacles to ensure safe, cost-effective, timely, and productive work, managing time and expenses in the field to minimize rework and ensure quality.
- Manage daily activities to keep personnel focused, verify scope achievement, proper equipment use, and documentation updates.
- Act as the VM contact for new business and re-construction requests.
- With PG&E approval, authorize scheduling and scope changes in the field.
- Promote safety culture, conduct safety observations, and ensure compliance with safety rules and standards.
- Audit VM work for compliance with standards.
- Assist with training and onboarding VM Inspectors.
- Support PGE Work Verification team to address observations promptly.
- Maintain relationships with public agencies and PG&E contractors to support escalated work and customer issues.
- Patrol circuits, prescribe work, and ensure clearance compliance for at least one year.
- Determine when and if trees require trimming or removal, assessing hazards.
- Identify and prescribe tree pruning and removal to meet regulatory and PG&E standards.
- Ensure work complies with PG&E standards, permits, and safety regulations.
- Utilize computers, reports, and data management systems effectively.
- Perform quality audits and assist in outage investigations and emergency responses.
- Maintain relationships with public agencies and assist in incident and customer claims investigations.
- Operate vehicles and forestry equipment, walk on uneven ground, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Use safety gear such as hard hats, vests, and glasses.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid Class C driver's license.
- Active TRAQ Certification.
- Residency within 50 miles of San Carlos, CA.
- Experience in tree climbing, vegetation management, forestry, or related fields, with specific experience levels listed.
- Knowledge of local trees and growth rates.
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Experience with data collection, GIS, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in rugged terrain and adverse weather.
- Map reading, accountability, accuracy, adaptability, and positive attitude.
- Complete OSHA 30-hour safety training, CTSP or Certified Arborist with TRAQ, 911 training, QA/QC, and computer training within specified timeframes.
- Serve as liaison between clients and operations, supporting team progress.

Description:
The Senior Vegetation Management Inspector (SVMI)-TRAQ position is ideal for experienced forestry professionals with backgrounds in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields, and relevant work experience.
Contingent upon contractor approval, the SVMI-TRAQ may support Vegetation Management Inspector (VMI) duties. Responsibilities include inspections, audits, monitoring contractor performance, planning, directing, and coordinating tree clearance activities, and liaising with clients, crews, and customers.
Note: This role is designated as safety-sensitive.Compensation: Potential sign-on bonus and retention incentives totaling $3000.00.
Residency: Must reside within 50 miles of San Carlos, CA, or be willing to relocate.Duties & Responsibilities:
