- Lead our platform biology team - responsible for the ideation, discovery, and development of new chemical induced proximity modalities
- Build and lead our Discovery Biology group, including creating a high-throughput discovery engine that in parallel drives target validation and program development
- Expand the company’s external network of advisors and establish deep domain area expertise in early program areas such as immunology, oncology, genetic disorders and neurology.
- Collaborate closely with the AI, chemistry, and biology group to drive a large pipeline of hits to multiple development candidates across a range of new modalities
- Build and lead a strong team of Directors, Scientists, and RAs to achieve company milestones
- Provide creative and innovative leadership of platform and discovery biology enabling the Company to convert biological hypotheses into transformative medicines and new modalities
- Ensure effective interaction and communication between AI, Chemistry, and Strategy teams, in alignment with FL94’s leadership team
- Construct and manage spending budgets and project resourcing
- Set goals and milestones, communicate scientific findings effectively to potential collaborators or investors.
- A proven scientific leader with a PhD in Biology/Biochemistry/Cell biology (or related fields)
- 10+ years of industrial experience with a focus drug discovery.
- Track record of new modalities development, like PROTACs.
- Track record of small molecule drug discovery, from hit identification to IND filings.
- Track record of target discovery and validation, across therapeutic areas and target classes; experience working with completely novel biology is a plus.
- Therapeutic domain expertise in oncology, immunology, genetic disorders, or neurobiology
- Demonstrated expertise and a track record of success in advancing discovery programs from target validation through lead optimization and into early clinical development.
- Extensive experience in CRO management of drug discovery programs
- A track record of communicating scientific concepts and strategies effectively, including a publication record in top-tier, peer reviewed journals.
- Excellent leadership capabilities with at least five years practice guiding and motivating successful teams, as well as building and managing productive research collaborations.
- Very strong communication and partnering skills.
- Demonstrated track record of personnel development.

Position Summary:
FL94 Inc. is seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic, driven, and visionary scientific leader to join our team as VP/SVP of Discovery and Platform Biology. You will serve as a critical part of FL94’s R&D Leadership Team, establishing FL94 as the leader in protein editing and leveraging our novel platform to develop first-in-class medicines and new modalities. You will lead the biology team towards fulfilling the broadest vision of FL94 through state-of-the-art scientific innovation, strategy, and operations to continuously develop and expand the platform.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in creating productive high throughput functional and biochemical screening platforms, experience in the creation of new chemical modalities, and have led discovery and development of multiple small molecule drugs across a broad range of target classes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record across target identification, validation, and initiating new drug discovery programs across various disease areas.
