      Unit Description

      Senior Vice President of Operations – Universities (New England Region)

      Candidate must reside in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut, or Maine .

      The Successful candidate will:

      • Be responsible for leading all activities and teams for a specific activity sector or geographic area in a regional segment.
      • Have strong negotiation & influencing skills to promote sustainable financial models that exceed expectations
      • Advance the relationship with our union business partners
      • Lead the division team to deliver on our Quality of Life positioning and achieve a safe working environment that meets or exceeds the economic and commercial performance
      • Work with the Regional Segment Head to develop and implement the segment strategy within the division and more widely in the region to deliver sustainable, profitable growth and value for Sodexo clients and our business
      • Partner with the Sales team for the region to ensure that the new development and cross-selling development targets are met through solutions selling and development of a robust pipeline -Manage and develop the division talent in collaboration with HR and segment leadership
      • Lead the business to achieve economic and commercial performance and managing talent in scope.
      • Manage Client relationships, business retention, and new business development.
      • Ensure that all employees under his/her operational control comply with all client, government, corporate, and Segment policies and procedures.
      • Works under the general direction of the COO for the business segment in North America

      Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Articulates the strategic business value of Sodexo to Area clients/prospects by bringing targeted solutions from the full portfolio of services.
      • Promotes a client/customer-centric operating culture that strives to exceed client goals, objectives, requirements, and expectations.
      • Oversees the overall development activities, including positioning, strategy development, customer negotiations, contract review, and pricing/costing.
      • Ensures Sodexo’s Segment goals and objectives are met or exceeded in the Area through District Managers and their support teams.
      • Achieves Segment goals by providing the leadership, management, and oversight necessary to ensure that the Area’s portfolio of business has the proper solutions, products, metrics, and talent in place to effectively grow the organization and meet/exceed defined revenue and profitability targets and other KPIs.
      • Responsible for innovation ideation to expand Sodexo’s Service Solutions for current and prospective clients.
      • Resolves client problems and concerns with agility and professionalism. Establishes organizational protocols and systems to identify client issues, trends, and opportunities and effectively integrate them into Area strategies.
      • Balances retention efforts at current clients with new business development within the region.
      • Reallocates resources across the Area to ensure operational excellence in all Area accounts.
      • Works closely with Service Operations and Transversal functions associated with the segment.
      • Hire, grow, and develop talent. Takes quick and decisive action on employee issues and performance problems. Provides positive and constructive feedback to employees by coaching, mentoring, counseling, and developing talent for future growth.
      • In collaboration with Business Development and Service Operations, designs and implements Strategic Partnership programs for the business portfolio that create value for clients/prospects.
      • Responsible for the portfolio's communications and marketing plans to ensure we drive business outcomes for both the client and Sodexo.
      • Establishes visibility and relevance for Sodexo in the Area’s industry by preparing presentations to management groups, leadership groups, and boards to explain the company’s market position and initiatives.
      • As a Change Champion, prepares the region's culture to adapt to and embrace ongoing, fundamental changes that will enable the business to grow and prosper.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

      Qualifications & Requirements

      Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

      Basic Management Experience - 10 years

      Basic Functional Experience - 10 years of multi-unit, support, or strategic leadership experience
