      The Sr. Video Production Specialist will work with the Manatee County Communications team, a group of award-winning storytellers. Through the creation of engaging graphics, exciting social media content, dramatic videos, and expertly crafted news releases, we communicate the important initiatives undertaken by Manatee County for its citizens, visitors, and businesses. This dynamic team works interdepartmentally to show taxpayers where their money is being spent. We work with HR for initiatives that lead to the hiring of high-quality candidates, The Sports and Leisure department in the development of exciting events that resonate with the public, and the Board of County Commissioners in relaying information about upcoming and in-progress CIP projects, legislative priorities and strategies that lead to an improved quality of awareness and life for our citizens. Oh yeah, and we have a ton of fun doing it.

      What You Will Do
      • Strategize the vision for video productions with the communications team to identify impactful story-telling opportunities that correlate with other communication efforts.
      • Act as lead for a two-person video team that scripts, captures, edits, and assembles raw recorded footage into a finished product that’s suitable for distribution.
      • Operates Canon R Mirrorless DSLRs, Canon Camcorders, gimbals, drones, lighting etc. to capture stunning visual representations of county initiatives and programs.
      • Interprets complex information and turns it into creative content that is “view-worthy” in the eyes of the communications team and the public.
      • Transforms ideas into full-blown video creations with expert knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects.

      • You know your way around a wide variety of different types of productions. Ie: green screen, interview, run-and-gun, educational, documentary, etc.
      • You can handle several projects simultaneously and pivot from one to another at a moment's notice.
      • You have a solid grasp of motion graphics.
      • You feel that capturing solid audio is just as important as capturing great video.
      • You update your demo often (even when you’re not looking for a job) and are rarely ever more than 10 feet away from your camera.

      • Bachelor’s degree in film, journalism, communications, or related field of study.
      • 5 or more years of work experience in video production and still photography.
      • Part 107 FAA certification is required.
      • 2 years’ experience using the following equipment: Canon R series mirrorless cameras, Canon XA50, camcorders, DJI Ronin Gimbal Stabilizers, Skydio Drone, 3-point lighting kit, green screen, telephoto and prime lenses, studio photography, and wired and wireless microphones.
      • Valid driver license required, with valid Florida driver license required within 30 days of hire.
      Desired Skills
      • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
      • Graphic design experience a major plus
      • Experience with Canon mirrorless cameras
