      We are seeking qualified applicants for a Senior Visual Designer within our Strategic Water Pursuits Team. We are a specialized sales and marketing team focused on winning the largest, most strategic pursuits within the water business line. Our visual designers work collaboratively within a team setting to create compelling marketing materials to support the company’s image, brand and reputation and win work! It’s a high-energy atmosphere and we work with technical people to translate their concepts into persuasive sales collateral. We are looking for a team player who thrives in an environment where people work together to create industry-leading proposals and presentations. This person must be self-motivated and need minimal visual guidance/direction.

      Your Key Responsibilities

      The primary area of responsibility involves start-to-finish design and preparation of compelling proposals, interviews, brochures and statements of qualifications, including page layout composition; development of information design, such as infographics, figures, charts, illustrations, diagrams. Our senior visual designers are involved in producing both short and long (multi-volume) proposals; off-site printing or digital submissions. The ability to communicate well with technical teams is a must-have for our senior visual designers.

      Your Capabilities and Credentials

      Design Skills:

      • Master level page layout – must include experience with long documents (50+ pages)
      • Adobe Creative Cloud on PC Platform: Master level InDesign, with the midlevel skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
      • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
      • Create complex PowerPoint presentations involving animation, video or other high-level visual design
      • Understanding of both printed and digital design parameters

      Soft Skills:

      • Conceptual thinker capable of taking an idea and creating a persuasive visual/graphic
      • Collaborative team player
      • Great communicator who works in partnership with others to execute persuasive storytelling visuals
      • Provide effective leadership, coaching, and mentoring for developing junior staff
      • Ability to manage pursuit-related documents, while producing high-quality deliverables
      • Be recognized by internal and external associates as an expert in visual communication and design
      • Detail oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills and ability to effectively balance multiple priorities
      • Ability to work effectively within a group, as well as independently motivated with minimal supervision
      • Problem-solver who leverages creative thinking to provide solutions
      • Must have availability to work occasional overtime to complete deadlines
      • Travel requirements are on a project-by-project basis up to 15%

      Education and Experience

      • Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, art, or related field (or equivalent experience).
      • A minimum of 7 years of graphic design experience, including long documents and presentations (A/E/C industry experience is a plus).
      • Must have a visual portfolio that illustrates a fluent understanding of design fundamentals (color theory, typography, space, form, rhythm, composition, brand guidelines, etc.)

      • Location Description: (CA, CO, WA locations only)
      • Min Salary/Per Hour: $87,600.00
      • Max Salary/Per Hour: $131,300.00
      • Note: The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
