      OVERVIEW

      Are you an accomplished, Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer with experience in design and construction oversight of water and wastewater infrastructure? If this sounds like you, Merrick wants to talk!

      Merrick is a mid-sized, multi-discipline, employee-owned consulting engineering firm that prides itself on building deep relationships with its customers. Our water group in San Antonio, Texas is growing and seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our hybrid team.

      Annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $162,000.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.


      WHAT YOU'LL DO

      • Perform assignments in the analysis and design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, including advanced treatment/nutrient removal processes, water and sewer pipelines, pump stations, and related infrastructure.
      • Prepare and review working drawings, details, layouts, cost estimates, studies, reports and work products.
      • Provide construction support and oversight, including administration, limited inspection, and start-up/operations support for all water and wastewater facilities.
      • Perform independent design tasks, review designs by others, prepare bid documents including drawings and specifications.
      • Organize drawings, reports, calculations, and associated project deliverables with limited supervision (After receiving initial instructions from project manager).
      • Direct and manage a team of design engineers and/or technicians on water and wastewater projects.
      • Make sound engineering decisions, exercise initiative and judgment, and possess in- depth industry knowledge.

      • Interface with clients and local, state, and federal government agencies.
      • Lead project progress meetings, make project presentations, and provide clear written communication.
      • Some travel may be required.

      REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical or environmental engineering (ABET Accredited)
      • Twelve (12) + years of experience in the design and construction oversight of water and/or wastewater infrastructure facilities and projects.
      • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
      • Experience working on Water and Wastewater projects.
      • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interface with clients and local, state, and federal government agencies.
      • Ability to become knowledgeable of and apply Merrick procedures when required.
      • Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable under Merrick’s insurance carrier.
      • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

      DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Master’s Degree with emphasis in treatment process.
      • Experience with any of the following is a plus:
        • Water/Sanitary Sewer modeling
        • Advanced treatment and nutrient removal process design
        • GIS Systems and Programs
      • Public works design experience with local, State and Federal governments is a plus.
      • Local candidates preferred; relocation assistance will be considered.
