Marketing and Communications | Brand MarketingAs a member of the Marketing Technology team within the Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC), the Senior Web Developer plays a key role in the development and operation of all public and internally facing OMC products including websites, applications, integrations, and underpinning technologies. This role will provide web development support for high-visibility web properties for the university as well as brand governance platforms brand.osu.edu and bux.osu.edu.
The Senior Web Developer will play a major role in the support and on-going enhancement of our custom Drupal 9 platform as well as individual Drupal sites. Primary responsibilities include creating custom modules and functionality to address user and client needs, assisting with front-end development and custom Drupal theme work, assisting with Drupal 9 core and contributed module updates, researching emerging technologies and trends in web development, and ensuring university ADA and security requirements are being met. This role will also assist with development of the university’s central design system, custom PHP applications, and other special projects as needed.
The Senior Web Developer will collaborate with technical and non-technical staff and will be asked to work directly with stakeholders to provide on-going support and to translate business needs to website features and web applications.
The Senior Web Developer will serve as a subject matter expert and may be asked to mentor other developers within our team and the larger university community as needed.
The successful candidate will be an expert-level Drupal developer with experience managing and/or contributing to custom Drupal 8/9 distributions. This person will be a creative driven individual who is able to manage complex work independently and work well as part of a fast-paced collaborative team.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Minimum four
(4) years of web development experience; Minimum of 2 years of Drupal development experience (preferably 8/9); High-level proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and Git; Experience with Drupal module development (preferably 8/9), front-end development, managing and/or contributing to custom Drupal distributions, and working with package managers (preferably Composer).
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with Drupal 8/9 theming and/or TWIG development; Familiarity with WCAG 2.0+ and Section 508 accessibility compliance standards; Experience with a modern JavaScript framework, such as React or Vue; Familiarity with AWS services; Experience working with Docker, CI/CD scripting, and/or Bash scripting; Experience with REST/JSON API consumption; Experience with MySQL database configuration; Experience working within a marketing or agency environment.

Additional Information:
The Target Hiring Range for this position is $79,000 to $105,500 per year.
