      Join us as a Senior WC Claims Examiner to grow your experience in Defense Base Act Claims. The AIG Defense Base Act claims team is an experienced group that specializes in handling workers compensation benefits to covered employees injured in the course of their employment. We work together, across boundaries, to met the needs of our customers. We always work to develop relationships that make a positive difference in our customers lives.       How you will create an impact

      • Provide technical expertise in directing and resolving Federal Workers’ Compensation claims in accordance with best claim practice guidelines.

      • Utilize investigation, claim handling, litigation, and negotiation skills to ensure timely cost-effective claim settlements and file closure.

      • Claims could be of unlimited value but utilize independent decision making with reserve and settlement authority up to $350,000.

      • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to Claim Representatives

      • Provide prompt effective customer service to differentiate AIG from our competitors

      • Manage indemnity, medical and legal aspects of assigned claims using available resources which include medical management services to manage medical treatment and coordinate use of independent medical evaluations where appropriate

      • Gather documentation and make a timely recovery submission to DFEC in a complete and efficient manner to ensure full recovery is received

      What you'll need to succeed

      • 3 + years’ experience handling workers’ compensation claims

      • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred

      • Ability to make independent decisions within prescribed autonomy limit

      • Strong (oral/written) communication and interpersonal skills
