- Work closely with analysts and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Confer with user representatives to gain an understanding of necessary changes to system.
- Maintain and modify programs according to specifications. Code, compile, and implement application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Evaluate basic interrelationships in immediate programming area to determine how changes in one program will affect another related area.
- Test modified programs, create necessary test files and data, verify logic, debug, and write relevant documentation.
- Assist in the analysis of production system problems and in recommending workable solutions. Assist with performance monitoring.
- Make recommendations toward the development of new code or reuse of existing code.
- Bachelor's in a job related field
Associates degree plus an extra 2 years job related work experience for a total of 4 years of required work experience (see "required work experience")
6 total years required work experience.
- 2 years-of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.
- Solid understanding of applications/development, quality assurance and integration methodologies, concepts and facilities in a mainframe, midrange, web, and/or PC/LAN environment.
- Good analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates logical abstract thinking and assimilating/adhering to project goals and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Able to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
- Pays attention to detail.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, vendors etc.
- Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, programming languages, and development tools and their usage in the company.
- Solid understanding of core Java concepts and best practices.
- Experience with Spring (or similar dependency injection framework) for dependency injection, configuration, and application structuring.
- Hibernate & JPA: Deep understanding of ORM concepts, entity lifecycle, lazy loading, fetch strategies, and HQL/JPQL.
- Proficiency with Gradle or other modern build tools such as Maven or Bazel.
- Experience with Git for code storage, effective branching strategies, and conflict resolution during merges.
- Experience with testing automation practices and tools such as Unit Testing using frameworks like JUnit, Integration and API Testing for validating service layers and endpoints, and Performance Testing with tools such as Gatling or similar.
- Experience designing and integrating REST Web Service APIs with front-end applications.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle.
- Basic knowledge of Docker and working with containerized environments.
- Algorithms and Data Structures: Solid foundation in algorithmic thinking and problem-solving.
- Cloud Experience: Familiarity with AWS, particularly EC2 and S3.
- Experience with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud infrastructure.
- Practical knowledge of the Groovy language.
- Experience with database changelog tools like Liquibase or Flyway.
- Customer-focused, project-oriented programming environment.
- Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.

Description
Position Purpose :
Under general supervision, analyze systems specifications and develop applications to support information systems processes. Assist with development of program specifications. Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain these programs. Assist in research and fact-finding to develop and/or modify information systems.
Location:
This is a full-time (40 hours a week M-F) and fully on-site position located in either State College, PA, Dallas, TX or Columbia, SC.
