      Position Summary

      The Server takes the lead in creating an exceptional dining experience for residents and guests. Working in the front of the house (the dining room), the Server answers questions about the menu, takes food and drink orders, delivering the meal and removing dinnerware from the table in a timely manner. The Server is also responsible for the preset and continued cleanliness of the dining room and service areas.

      Essential Functions

      Before, Between and After Dining Hours

      • Ensure dining room and service area is cleaned per procedure and free of debris
      • Ensure ample supply of flatware is clean and placed according to expectations
      • Review the days menu and speak with chef/sous chefs regarding interesting information regarding foods offered
      • Know the residents diets and likes and dislikes
      • Ensure the dishes and dish area are cleaned

      During Dining Hours

      • Welcome and greet residents and guests
      • Communicate daily specials and any menu changes
      • Take food and beverage orders from residents and guests, and communicate their order to the chef/sous chef for preparation
      • Monitor resident and guest dining experience to ensure we have exceeded their expectations

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Previous experience in a customer service related role

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Experience working in a food service environment, preferably as a server or host
      • Experience working in a senior living community

      Physical Working Requirements

      • Able to do occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds
      • Repetitive walking, bending, and squatting
      • Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and/or weekends
      • Team Member is subject to outside environment conditions occasionally, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change
