      The Prince George's County Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Service Aide position, grade G1, in the FD Support Services and Logistics Division.


      NOTE: THIS IS A TEMPORARY (1000HR) POSITION WITHIN THE FIRE and EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT.

      About the Position:
      This is an entry level clerical position designed to support the Logistics Department. The incumbent will perform routine to moderately difficult clerical responsibilities.

      The mission of the Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department is to serve our communities with excellence by providing the highest quality of risk reduction, fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical, and all-hazards response services to enhance the quality of life in Prince George’s County.

      • Performs accurate data entry utilizing computers and other data entry mechanisms without errors and revisions
      • Assists in job related data entry functions with minimum supervision as instructed by manager
      • Inventories vending supplies
      • Stocks vending machines
      • Receives telephone calls to schedule appointments
      • Responds to emails and inquiries to schedule appointments and correspondences
      High school diploma or equivalent and clerical experience as required by the program to which assigned is required. May be required to perform manual or routine clerical work, depending on the type of work assigned, for prolonged periods.

      CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Upon selection, the candidate must:

      • Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.

      • Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties, if applicable.
      • May be required to successfully pass preemployment checks which may include reference checks, background investigations, and drug screenings, where applicabl e.
      • Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies. Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.
