- Overall technical governance of the Service
- Creating & driving the Service vision and product architecture evolution plan
- Service Backlog with right priority, Release anatomy and Improvement plans
- Be accountable for overall product software design throughout the complete life-cycle, incl. Security aspects
- Main requirement studies, reviews, and impact analysis
- Stay up to date on technology trends of Product Domain and ensure product technology leadership to be spread within the Service
- Daily interconnection with the Development and Test/release teams within WCDB
- Perform trouble shooting and take part in customer support
- Drive continuous improvements of products, services and processes
- At least 8 years of experience in software and product development
- English proficiency, both written and spoken
- High Customer focus with a high accountability for delivering a product that meets customer needs long term
- Solid communication and presentation skills
- Solid understanding of R&D, Lean and Agile principles
- Solid experience in Cloud Native technologies
- Good knowledge of and experience in CI/CD and software testing
- Furthermore, we believe you are curious, innovative, high own self drive and collaborative.
- Good to have:
- Experience with NoSQL database in cloud native environments, preferably Cassandra
- Experience within Java and Python
- Software development environment and its tools, e.g.Git, Gerrit, Maven, Jenkins

We are now looking for a Service Architect within the ADP Generic Service Wide Column Database (WCDBCD) at PDU CBEV (in SA BOS). WCDBCD uses a NoSQL database (Cassandra) and exists both as a virtualized and a containerized version. WCDBCD is a critical component of BSS commercial offerings
As a Service Architect you will be part of the WCDBCD TEAM where you play a key role in working with studies that define the input for the development teams as well working closely with the teams throughout the development cycle. As a Service Architect you work together with the Product Owner and Area Architect to ensure the software implementations are based on a sustainable technical solution and consistent with the product technology roadmaps and strategies.
You need to be able to take lead and drive tasks (technical as well as coaching aspects) both towards the people within the Service as well as towards the surrounding areas.
As our candidate you should be self-driven, service minded and enjoy working in team and have good social skills to interact and work within a multinational, multi-site cross-functional teams/program set-up. The ability to think outside the box and take responsibility end to end. You strive to meet targets and highest standards of quality and have the ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
