      Job summary

      We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Service Manager in Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) on the Peterborough City Hospital site to provide operational leadership across Urgent and Emergency services, be the point of escalation to support resolving any operational issues on a day to day basis

      Working closely with the Deputy Divisional Operations Director, Service Managers and Clinical and Nursing Leads within Urgent and Emergency Care, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of our UEC operational and transformation agenda across all hospital sites.

      You will be a calm, talented and compassionate leader that can operate effectively within a high pressured environment. We are looking for a strong leader who will champion excellent patient care, working closely with our clinicians and multidisciplinary teams on service innovation, improvement and development.

      The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day to day management of service delivery within Urgent and Emergency Care. The post holder will have previous management and leadership experience with a focus on innovation and target driven work.

      Main duties of the job

      The key focus of this post will be internal to the Trust, delivering the key objectives and targets within the Urgent and Emergency Care areas.

      You will be responsible for the operations leadership and management for your responsible service. Coordinate the planning, development and implementation of service improvement.

      Leading the service areas you are responsible for, ensuring the delivery of key targets within the budgeted resources available. You will contribute to strategic and annual business planning for your service areas, including the engagement of senior medical and other staff, as required.

      You will support the clinical governance processes within your areas and assist in the management of risk. You will provide cross cover within the Urgent and Emergency Care services across all sites as required.
