      Summary

      The Service Operations Intern at Kia America, Inc. (KUS) will support the Sr. Business Development Manager within the Service Operations department. The intern will learn how Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) aftersales operations work and support projects that will expose them to different departments and stakeholders. This internship will provide the intern with an in-depth look at KUS’ service operations, focused primarily on service & parts marketing, and the areas of service retention, capacity and customer satisfaction.

      This internship is a 10-week, full-time opportunity at Kia America’s Irvine headquarters from June 2, 2025 through August 8, 2025. The position is hybrid with one remote day per week.

      Major Responsibilities

      • Support in the management of Express Service Micro Module creation to increase sustainment training. Duties include:
        • Assist with needs assessment with stakeholders (internal and external) to identify the scope of material and modules needed.
        • Assist in identified module creation and scope negotiations with Kia University (KU) to determine timeline for development and launch.
        • Review existing express material and work with Kia’s express training partner to outline module material and direction.
        • Support the development of handover material package to provide to KU to execute module creation with their vendors.
      • Support Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and Service Elite Program.
      • Support service retention, capacity, and data analytics.
      • Any other duties assigned by the supervisor. This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed, as necessary.

      Education/Certification

      • Enrollment in or graduation from a bachelor’s degree program required.
      • Business major in Business Management or Automotive Management preferred.
      • Coursework in data analytics a plus.

      Overall Experience

      • Must be available for the full duration of the internship from June 2, 2025 – August 8, 2025.

      Directly Related Experience

      • Previous automotive service experience (dealer, OEM or vendor) preferred.
      • Prior internship experience in customer retention or customer satisfaction a plus.

      Skills

      Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook – required.
      Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, interpersonal, and writing skills required.

      Pay Rate

      $30 per hour
