- Effectively communicate with all customers and vendors both in person or via phone/electronic.
- Examine and evaluate incoming units for service by conducting a pre-work inspection. Note and document any defects (check engine lights, body damage, broken glass, etc.)
- Assess workload and schedule service accordingly.
- Work with service manager to complete service quotes and communicate with customers for approval.
- Inspect inventory to ensure parts needed for service repairs are in stock.
- Document work orders with employee time spent, using data from Time Clock.
- Work with the service manager and obtain approval for all work orders.
- Send final invoice to the customer.
- Process vendor invoices in for payment.
- Maintain constant communication with customers and provide status updates.
- Perform administrative work to ensure data accuracy by scanning documents to invoice reporting system and updating weekly invoice goal data.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Customer Service Experience - Service or Automotive is preferred
- Must be able to work well and collaborate with all people.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Effective professional communication ability.
- Ability and flexibility in performing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented.
- Excellent follow-up skills.
- Problem solving abilities.
Wastequip is looking to hire a Service Writer for our Lakeland, FL location. The Service Writer is responsible for ensuring customers receive the most accurate and complete quote for their repair/service needs. This position works with all employees at the facility, as well as interacting with senior leaders and corporate finance.
Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 (Based on experience)
