      Job Summary

      The Senior ServiceNow Engineer leads the architecture, design, development, and configuration of the ServiceNow platform and solutions used by employees throughout the business. To deliver value, this role will increase adoption of acquired ServiceNow functionality, research feasibility of new products and features, develop solutions with a focus on the user experience, and simplify complex business processes through automation and integrations. The Senior ServiceNow Engineer is responsible for interpreting user stories and technical requirements for the purpose of developing, programing, scripting or coding solutions to be delivered on the ServiceNow platform with the goal of enhancing both the platform and user experiences. The Senior ServiceNow Engineer is expected to leverage their experience, knowledge, skills and abilities with programming languages for the purpose of analyzing, designing, programming, debugging, testing (unit), modifying and writing documentation for the installation and maintenance of ServiceNow related solutions. Partners closely with IT leadership, system engineers, and software developers. This role reports directly to the Director IT Service Delivery.

      SCHEDULE

      Full Time

      To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each job duty successfully.

      • Develops or enhances existing service modules such as Incident, Change, Problem, Asset, Knowledge, Project Management, Configuration Management, Employee Self-Service Portal and Service Catalog.
      • Develop ServiceNow solutions across multiple ServiceNow clients. (example: Desktop, Mobile, etc.)
      • Design process flows utilizing the ServiceNow workflow designer component(s)
      • Leverage Studio IDE to build custom code
      • Use AngularJS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap and NodeJS appropriately to achieve successful development of components
      • Leverage RESTful API calls to integrate disparate systems
      • Work on a team using an Agile SCRUM development methodology
      • Leverage source code management (SCM) systems (ex. Azure DevOps, TFS, JIRA, etc.) for checking in/out source code and management of the mainline.
      • Integrate ServiceNow with disparate systems to accommodate end-to-end business process orchestration and automation
      • Develop solutions hosted in Cloud environments
      • Author and generate reports to analyze and meet business needs
      • Maintain technical product knowledge and specific domain expertise
      • Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships
      • Leads the architecture and design of the ServiceNow platform and development.
      • Customize workflows, business rules, and scripts to create custom applications and configurations
      • Complete functional/technical designs and associated estimates to meet defined requirements
      • Leads research and recommendations, demonstrates feasibility, and communicates emerging technologies, latest releases, product enhancements, platform features, modules, and development techniques to the team.
      • Promotes best practices and credit union coding standards, using design patterns and secure software guidelines.
      • Regularly leads collaborative coding sessions and code reviews.
      • Assists in assigning and coordinating work within the scrum team
      • Maintain design documentation and process standards along with regular audits to validate accuracy
      • Develops a culture of coaching within the scrum team.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

      Experience

      • 5+ years professional experience working as a ServiceNow Engineer or Developer
      • 5+ years professional experience delivering solutions on a Cloud platforms
      • 5+ years professional experience working with users and customers to define business needs and requirements as they relate to ServiceNow
      • Preferred experience with ITSM, ITAM, CMDB, ITOM, IntegrationHub, AppEngine

      Education

      BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology (or other related field) OR equivalent years additional professional experience.

      Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

      Certifications, and/or experience with the ServiceNow platform including:

      • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
      • ServiceNow Cloud Management
      • ServiceNow CAS Performance Analytics
      • ServiceNow Certified Systems Administrator
      • ITIL v3 or newer certification highly preferred

      Managerial Responsibility

      Does not have direct supervisory duties

      Computer/Office Equipment Skills

      • Advanced skills with Microsoft O365 including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
      • Experience with analytical and reporting software
      • Demonstrated experience working with SQL or other Reporting Service
      • Capable of operating common office equipment required to complete daily duties

      Language Skills

      • Demonstrated ability to clearly express ideas, methodology, results and recommendations verbally, in writing, and through insightful reports and graphic illustrations.
      • Demonstrated ability to transform business requests and requirements into technical requirements
