At Shell you can power your progress as we tackle the energy challenge together.
Shell has been present in Brazil since 1913. Our main objective is to respond to the energy needs of society today and in the future, acting responsibly in the economic, environmental, and social spheres. We have about 900 employees in Brazil. Our head office is in downtown, Rio de Janeiro. One of the world's largest companies in the field of Exploration and Production, Shell has one of its biggest technological challenges in the Upstream segment. Shell Brazil was the first private company to produce oil on a commercial scale in the country, in the Campos bay, after the market was opened. In Deep Water, we have 31 contracts with the Brazilian government, being the main operators for 21 of these projects. Shell Brazil is present in the Campos, Santos, Barreirinhas and Potiguar Bays, participating in 21 exploratory blocks in the country. The Downstream segment includes the Lubricants, Marine and Raízen business, a joint venture for sugar and ethanol production, Lubricants, electricity generation, supply and distribution of fuels for retail and commercial. We are excited to play a key role in the move to net carbon emissions while providing the oil and gas needed by society for many decades to come.
Develop the energy solutions of tomorrow and today
How can the world transition to net zero emissions while providing the secure, affordable energy that powers lives? You’ll get the opportunity for hands-on experience of projects that are helping to meet this challenge.
