Richmond, VA 2 WEST GRACE STREET 23220, 2 WEST GRACE STREET, Richmond, Virginia, United States of America Req #19733Tuesday, April 23, 2024The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for Housing Monitors – part-time/ weekends for the Central Virginia Area Command, Homeless Shelter located in Richmond, VA.
Job Summary
Perform a wide variety of functions to ensure the safety, security and well being of the shelter residents as well as the building.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of alcoholism and substance abuse. Knowledge of the 12-step process.
Skill in understanding of group reactions.
Computer Proficient.
Education and Experience
One year vocational/technical school degree and six months experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge and skills and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
First Aid/CPR a plus.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to lift light objects weighing less than 24 pounds.
Ability to work weekends and holidays / all shifts.
Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
