      Req#: 4825551
      Travels assigned routes, assisting stranded motorists, assisting emergency response agencies, and assisting in removing disabled vehicles and debris from travel lanes during incidents. Records incident response activities at each incident scene. Uses proper SHEP forms to document stops, transport, and consent to push/pull. Prepares written reports of incident response activities for major incident scenes, and inputs all response activities in the database. Correctly annotates and inputs vehicle mileage into database. Follows approved SCDOT traffic control practices and procedures by using a variety of traffic control and devices such as truck mounted changeable message signs, arrow boards, and traffic cones. Performs minor vehicle maintenance. Performs other related duties as assigned.A high school diploma and six (6) months of related experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence. Necessary Special Requirement: Employee must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.

      The physical demands for the essential function involves manual dexterity, excellent vision, and may require lifting up to 60 lbs. May work outside of normal scheduled work week and during inclement weather. Work environment is generally in a truck and close proximity to heavy and fast moving traffic.
