- Tertiary qualifications in Workplace/Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Quality Management
- Demonstrated experience in SHEQ roles within industrial, utility, or infrastructure environments
- Strong knowledge of SHEQ legislation, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements
- Formal training and experience in incident investigation desirable (ICAM desirable or TapRooT).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A passion for promoting a safe and sustainable workplace
- Implementing and maintaining Safety Management Plans and risk registers
- Conducting incident investigations and supporting audit programs
- Delivering SHEQ training, inductions, and toolbox talks
- Ensuring compliance with SHEQ policies, procedures, and critical risk protocols
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive SHEQ performance
About the role
Ventia is seeking a dedicated and experienced SHEQ Coordinator to join our Defence and Social Infrastructure team at the Puckapunyal Defence Base.This permanent, full-time position plays a key role in delivering Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) outcomes across our Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC). You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of safety and excellence. There will also be a requirement to provide remote and some onsite support for other bases in the South Region – Eg Simpson Barracks in Watsonia (Vic) and RAAF Edinburgh in South Australia.
