      Job Description

      We are currently seeking experienced Ship Fitters for our Jacksonville location. There are seven openings available, with five positions for the day shift and two for the night shift. This role involves working on various ship repair projects, primarily at the Downtown Jacksonville location, and occasionally at Mayport Naval Station.       Responsibilities

      • Perform pipe fitting, welding, carpentry, outside machinist duties, and electrician mate tasks.
      • Carry out ship repair and maintenance work as required.
      • Collaborate with the team to ensure project deadlines and standards are met.

      Work Environment

      Work will primarily be completed at the Downtown Jacksonville location, formerly North Florida Shipyards, with occasional work at Mayport Naval Station. The schedule includes Monday through Friday shifts of 8 to 10 hours, depending on workload, with a monthly rotating mandatory Saturday. The role offers the potential to transition into a contract-to-hire position after a minimum of 4 months.


      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
