      Shipping & Receiving Technician

      We are seeking a candidate to fill our Shipping & Receiving Technician position.       The duties for this position will include but are not limited to inventory control, shipment, and freight processing, as well as fulfilling order requests. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

      Essential Responsibilities

      • Perform accurate receipt of deliveries, both physically and systemically
      • Perform accurate processing of shipments in the most cost effective and timely fashion available
      • Support purchasing in processing item returns to suppliers as needed
      • Build crates as needed to ship finished units to customers per Marlen standards
      • Support shop employees by fulfilling order request in a timely fashion
      • Picks up product by monitoring production; loading and moving product.
      • Stores product by designating storage areas; adjusting storage areas according to production and shipping requirements; updating location database.
      • Prepares product for shipment by verifying location; directing movement to staging area; resolving problems.
      • Controls warehouse inventory by coordinating movement of product from production to warehouse shipping.
      • Verifies product inventory reports by comparing logs and reports, adjusting entries.
      • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records; maintaining databases.
      • Monitors inventory by completing counts and physical inventory as required.
      • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
      • Accomplishes distribution and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
      • Participate in maintaining an orderly and safe working environment
      • Continuously improve warehouse operations


      Skills & Qualifications

      • Teamwork, Coordination, Organization, Planning, Time Management, Reporting Skills, Inventory Control, Documentation Skills, Data Entry Skills, Dependability
      • Understanding of ERP system
      • Understanding of overall materials flow and other functions linked to the warehouse activities and customer orders
      • Knowledge of inventory management concepts.

      Requirements

      • Education: High School Diploma / Equivalency
      • Warehouse experience
      • One (1) year forklift experience, preferred .

      Physical and Environmental Requirements:

      While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, kneel, and squat. The employee Is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms and climb. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.

      Work environment includes manufacturing. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
