      Full Time

      $27.00 to $40.00/hour

      1st Shift – 6:00am – 2:30pm & 2nd Shift - 3:00pm - 11:00pm

      Lead Marine Electrician has immediate openings for 1st Class Marine Electricians in the San Diego Naval Shipyard Industry. Candidates must have navy repair/marine electrical experience or prior military electrical background. Must be DBID Badge eligible to access Naval Bases.

      Responsibilities:

      • Understand basic electrical and electronic fundamentals.
      • Understand shipboard electrical systems, including 115- and 450-volt ungrounded systems.
      • Perform connect and disconnect procedures for electrical gear such as pumps, motors, and controllers.
      • Conduct Preventative Maintenance Requirements (PMS) on 3000 Series MIPS for shipboard systems.
      • Inspect and assess electrical equipment, including damaged or malfunctioning systems.
      • Open, pack, and close MCT.
      • Perform electrical repairs, including installing conduit, electrical boxes, light switches, fixtures, circuit breakers, and repairing controllers.
      • Troubleshoot electrical components supporting AC/heating and ventilation systems.
      • Troubleshoot electrical components in galley and scullery shipboard systems.

      Requirements:

      • Knowledge of NAVSEA STD Items 009-22, 009-23, and 009-73.
      • Perform electrical hook-ups following disconnect sheets/drawings.
      • Read isometric wiring, block, and cable routing diagrams.
      • Lay out electrical equipment.
      • Complete CFR documentation.
      • Banding of cableways, packing MCTs, and stuffing tubes.
      • Familiarity with WAF/Tag-out procedures.
      • Use of electrical test equipment.
