  Job Title: Shop Laborer

  Job Description

  Join our team as a Shop Laborer, where you'll collaborate with skilled trades members on the shop floor. Your primary focus will be assisting with instrumentation tasks under supervision, prepping instruments, setting up pumps, and aiding in equipment installation. Responsibilities also include sweeping floors, using wrenches, fittings, simple piping, cutting pipe, and measuring.

  Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled trades members with entry-level tasks.
  • Focus on instrumentation-related tasks.
  • Prep instruments and set up pumps.
  • Help with equipment installation.
  • Sweep floors and maintain cleanliness.
  • Use wrenches and fittings for simple piping.
  • Measure and cut pipes as needed.

  Essential Skills

  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Previous manufacturing or fabrication shop experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Tool knowledge including grinders, drills, drill presses, bandsaws, and cutoff saws.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience as a laborer.
  • Mechanical exp with at least 1 year of experience.
  • Experience in a fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read pipefitting and instrumentation drawings.
  • Development in a skilled trade.
  • Experience with overhead cranes.

  Work Environment

  Located in the Balzac/Rockyview area, Ultrafab provides H2S mitigation systems for oil and gas applications. The facility is not accessible by public transit, offering a Monday-Thursday 6AM-4:30PM shift with optional flexible Friday shifts. Expect a 40-hour work week, with occasional overtime. The workplace has a strong team culture and offers cross-training across four different trades. Orientation and safety courses are conducted during the first week, ensuring compliance with Ultrafab protocols.

  This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ROCKY VIEW COUNTY, Alberta.

  Pay and Benefits

  The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
