      SIL/HIL Core Models Engineer

Looking for a highly qualified and motivated engineer to develop vehicle propulsion system plant models applied for propulsion control system performance verification/validation use cases. The engineer will be responsible for development and application of physics-based system level models for VPSE technologies (Electric vehicle, Hybrid electric vehicle and Internal combustion engine).

      Responsibilities:

      • Ideate, develop, and apply analytical system level models to support electrified vehicle propulsion system calibration use cases in SIL and HIL environments.

      • Envision and create methods, tools, and processes to improve model development and deployment process robustness.

      • Develop physics-based and data-driven reduced order system level models in thermal, mechanical, and electrical domain pertinent to automotive systems.

      • Perform rigorous verification, correlation, and validation of developed models to ensure model fidelity, accuracy, and execution speed.

      • Collaborate with SIL/HIL integration engineers to ensure models satisfy interface requirements.

      • Collaborate with D&R engineers to understand system design specs and obtain needed model parameterization data.

      • Collaborate with vehicle test engineers to develop instrumentation plan and obtain necessary data for model development and validation.

      • Partner with R&A engineers to transfer new technology models to product development.

      • Develop and document processes for robust program delivery and present work to technical forums.

      Experience Required:

      • 5+ years of propulsion systems development experience with an understanding of the calibration process.

      • 5+ years of experience developing and testing propulsion system analytical models.

      • Knowledge of electrified and ICE propulsion systems/components, and their operation and interactions within the system.

      • Experience with powertrain and cabin thermal management system simulation

      • Experience with data driven reduced order model development using artificial neural networks.

      • Working knowledge of GPDS and calibration milestones.
